My 'Go To' Make Up Brushes

Hi everyone!

This blog post is going to be me, telling you my favourite go to everyday make up brushes! I have quite a collection now, however there are a few staples which I use every single day and would not be able to go a day without.
I will start with the brush I use for my base, then eyes and so on...

FACE

The foundation brush that i use day in day out, is the Real Techniques buffing brush. It has a very sturdy handle, slightly thicker than other foundation brushes I have previously used. The outcome is a beautiful flawless finish without looking too heavy. My foundation is easily applied with the buffing motion onto my face. The other reason I love love love this brush is it is super quick at drying after being washed!

The powder brush i use, is the Body Shop Face and Body Brush, I love this for powder mainly because it is massive! I don't tend to use a ton of powder as I prefer to look glowing and dewy, so one one swirl of this brush, my face is covered with the ideal amount of powder for me! Its again, very sturdy and very reasonably priced!

The blush brush I use and have done since I was around 16 (don't worry! I have bought several in that time) is the ECO tools Bamboo Blush Brush, I firstly don't think Eco Tools is raved about enough, I have used a few brushes from the collection, and I have to say none of them have disappointed me. However, this blush brush is one of the best blush brushes I have used, it is shaped for easy application and is the perfect size for laying on blush!

The brush i use for contouring is yet another beauty from Real Techniques and its the contour brush, it is a thin domed brush, which is perfect for highlighting above the cheek bones, under the eyebrows  and bottom of the chin.

My brush I use to apply bronzer with has to be the ECO tools sheer finish kabuki, its super soft and super big to apply bronzer finely to those areas needed, it gives a very sheer finish. I bought another one recently from TKMaxx for just £4.99 which is a bargain!!

Eyes

I don't tend to wear much eye shadow really, because in the days I'm usually at work, where I normally just wear a winged eyeliner effect, but when I'm off I tend to have a play around and I do have some brushes which are amazing at blending and applying so I felt i had to give the a small mention at the end.

For applying a shadow to my eye as a base I use the number 777 shadow brush by bdellium tools, it holds shadow very well and applies it very smoothly on the eyes, not great with blending which is why I just use it for applying my base colours.
Next up, my favourite brush for blending is another beauty from the bdellium tools and that is number 769 is it angled just slightly to give a really contoured finish to your shadow its is very precise so you can get into those tricky inner corners.

The brush I use for putting shadow under the eyes is number 941 from Japonesque its a dinky little brush but it perfect for getting under your bottom lashes to define your eyes.

For applying shadow close to the top lashes, giving the look of eyeliner, I use another brush by the Body Shop, it is the Slanted Brush, this brush is perfect to get around the eyes for a real defined and precise look. This brush is also great at applying gel eyeliner.

Last but not least the brush I use for my brows is number 760 from the much loved bdellium tools, its super tiny for creating small hairs for any patches in your brows and I just love how it makes them look super natural.

REVIEW: Rimmel Apocalips

Hey guys,

my first 'proper' blog post is going to be a review, and wow, what a product, I have seriously been blown over by!

The new Rimmel Apocalips Lip Lacquers have recently hit the shelves in our drugstores and I couldn't wait to try them. In the range there are 8 colours to choose from, I have only tried two, but can't wait to buy more already!
The colours start from a very pale nude colour to a pop of telephone box colour red.
I picked up the two colours which immediately caught my eyes
celestial & luna

picture above shows 'celestial'
Celestial is a warm pinky/berry tone, very wearable on all skin tones and can be worn any time of the day.
Luna (part of me was drawn to this as its the name of my kitten!!) is a light pretty pink colour, on me this washes me out slightly, but may be because I have no tan on, it may look better in the spring months.

The consistency of these lip lacquers are brilliant, they're very opaque and long lasting, I put one on a 9am and it was still there at 3pm, slightly warn but what do you expect after lots of chatting, drinking cups of teas and eating my lunch?!
The packaging is also a winner, very stylish and chic with the edgy applicator handle.
For a drugstore brand, these are amazing at £5.99 from both boots and superdrug, you seriously couldn't ask for more. I have been wearing mine everyday since I bought them two weeks ago! WOW!

I am popping down to boots tomorrow to get more!
What are your favourite colours?

My first blog post! Yay!

Hello, and welcome to my first ever blog post!

I have been wanting to create a blog for aaages, but just have never really known how to set one up/start one!

Soo, here it goes!

My name is Tanya, I live in Northamptonshire and have a full time job. I am a sucker for make-up and all things beauty! In my spare time I usually find myself watching You Tube videos such as +Estée essiebutton, Fleur De Force, Tanya Burr and many many more. In my lunch hour I'm usually found in boots, in the make up department, drouling over all the new products, swatching, sniffing and finding which colours will suit me the most!

So, to sum this all up, I'm going to be blogging all about my passion for make up/beauty from skin care, drugstore and high end make up. I'd be appreciative of any reviews you'd like me to do on any new products around, as I'd love to get to know what you guys like too!

I want to make this introduction simple and sweet, so watch out for my first ever review!
